Daphne & Apollo

Daphne & Apollo by Adam Rosenlund

This tee is a representation of the story of Daphne and Apollo. For those that don't know the story Apollo is a god and Daphne is his first love. She was an independent huntress who didn't want to get married. Apollo saw her in the woods and fell in love. She was not interested and ran away. Being a horny old goat he chased her. Nearing the river near her home she pleaded for help and was transformed into a tree.

Yep, crazy story but really cool tee.

Smoking Vader

Vador Clope by félix tarck

I finally understand why Darth Vader has such problems breathing. I like the idea that the stress of running things gets to him and he has to go out the back for a smoke. It really shows the weakness of the dark side. At least with a light saber at hand he never has to worry about a lighter running out.

Winner

Winner by balin

Cock fighting is one of those things considered taboo so you really don't see much art about it. I find that really strange because in nature these birds do fight. It is only when man gets involved that there is a problem. Here the use of a loose, splattered style of coloring really gives this illustration a sense of movement, anger and the heat of the moment.

Stoned in Wonderland

Stoned in Wonderland from 604Republic

These days it is a pretty common belief that the Alice in Wonderland fairytale is a thinly veiled story about drugs. The artist here has taken that thinking to the next level by depicting all the characters as stoned. It visually gives the joke to those old enough to get it while the younger escape corruption. Now I am going to go find my own rabbit hole to tumble down. Enjoy your day as I certainly will.

Samstrich

Samstrich from 6 Dollar Shirts

I really like this tee but I found myself staring at it for ages trying to work out how you would categorize it. The best I could come up with is fantasy meets steampunk with a surrealist touch. In fact it actually reminds me of characters from the game World Of Warcraft. At the end of the day it does not really matter because at just six bucks this is an absolute bargain.

Pick Your Poison

Pick Your Poison by Phil Jones

The skull and crossbones is such an overused cliche that it amazes me that until now nobody had thought to use it as a pattern. It works really well. What really astounded me though is the sheer number of different skulls. It makes it worth looking at every inch in detail to find them all. Some of the more notable that I noticed are Mickey Mouse, Robocop, a Teletubby and the Reddit alien.

Sasquatch Frenzy

Sasquatch Frenzy! by Mr-Nicolo

With its almost fluoro colors this tee attacks your retinas and smacks you upside the head. I love it. Taking an old worn out idea and breathing a freshness into it is something that is attempted often yet rarely done well. This sasquatch looks so amazingly ferocious that I certainly wouldn't want to met one of these guys. The use of bold colors on a blue shirt makes sure this one stands out from the crowd and that you will not forget it in a hurry.

Owl

Owl from GDG Tattoos & Apparel

Before you go getting all excited I have some bad news for you. This has sold out in the mens and there are only a few XL womens left. Yes you can add this one to the denial files. GDG do have other great designs though so be sure to drop by and check them out.

Ganesha Typography

Ganpati Lambodar from Hornok Tees

I have said this before but generally speaking I am not a fan of typography tees. I just don't like the idea of walking around ramming a message down peoples throats. It takes something special in the typography tee department to capture my attention. This Ganesha artwork didn't just get my attention, it blew my socks off. I would quite happily wear this anytime.

Fish Charmer

Fish Charmer by Daniel Teixeira

I find this charmer so charming. I like to think that this bear saw a snake charmer doing his act and being such an intelligent fellow adapted it to his own needs. Rather than expend all his energy hunting he now sits quietly and lets his music bring the food to him. I really like the level of detail in this as it makes you want to lean in for a closer look.

Equilibrium

Equilibrium by Chinellatto

Roll Up, Roll Up. The circus has come to town. Be amazed by the death defying acts of these highly detailed cartoon characters in this all over print tee. If you want one of these I would suggest grabbing one soon. This tee has been highly anticipated by quite a number of people and is sure to be a quick seller. There are no guarantees of a reprint.

F#@k Windows

Fuck Windows from VNM

My childhood heavy metal fantasies have come to life. I grew up in the eighties, the decade of excess. Music videos were all about unending, out of control parties. Money was everywhere and with it came women. Rules didn't seem to apply, you could do what you wanted. Obviously as I grew up I figured out that life just isn't like that but there will always be a small part of my mind that will hold onto the dream.

Deeper

Deeper from Imaginary Foundation

Being an introvert this is a tee that really speaks to me. Now you are probably thinking that I am a shy hermit but you are completely wrong. I am actually quite social and work with people with mental disabilities every day. Studies have shown that introverts have a higher blood flow to the frontal lobe section of the brain. Because of this introverts tend to be artistic, problem solvers, deep thinkers etc. Introverts make up about a quarter of the general population, yet are about 60% of the gifted population. I know all this because I studied it which funnily enough is quite an introverted thing to do.

Limited Edition Tee From Antique

Limited Edition from Antique

Antique Clothing have released an new limited edition tee. Each one is numbered on a tag stitched on the bottom. Now that is exclusive. The design itself brings to mind the old saying "Time Flies". I really like the illustration style used as it looks quite simple from a distance yet a closer inspection uncovers the details.

Jeff Bridges Wears Same Tshirt In 3 Movies

It has been revealed that Jeff Bridges has worn the same tee in 3 different movies. I am not sure what type of Rainman like movie tragic actually spotted this but I found out about it via facebook. Ain't social media grand. I can only assume that he supplied his own wardrobe for these movies. Maybe it his lucky shirt, who knows. I just hope he washed it in between, considering these films span a 9 year period it would be incredibly stinky otherwise. After a bit of searching I have found that you can even own one of these for yourself. It is Kaoru Betto shirt fom Found Item Clothing

Lipstick

Lipstick by Paty_Vidour

In this day and age there are so many females who believe that they are not pretty unless they cake on lots of makeup. The problem is that they tend to go overboard and make themselves look worse. As a guy I look at those ladies and can't help wondering what they are hiding. This tee seems to portray that to me. It is a wonderful mix of beauty and grotesqueness.

Fresh Prints Tshirt Review

Tshirts from Fresh Prints Clothing

You can tell a lot about a company by seeing how they handle problems and customers. I won a tee from Fresh Prints back in December but didn't receive it. Now I know from experience just how badly some companies out there can treat situations like this but luckily that was not the case here. An email apology from owner/designer Tim explained that it had been forgotten in the Christmas rush, which is understandable. To make up for the oversight he sent out not one but four tees, along with some stickers and a xmas card with a hand written apology inside. That is actually quite a big thing considering they were shipped to the other side of the world.

There are two different types of shirts, both 100% cotton. The prints of the graphics are spot on, perfectly centered and lined up. They are also nice and soft without that plasticy feel that a lot have. If you are looking for some fun tees to freshen up your wardrobe you really should check these guys out.

Two Lumps

Two Lumps by Drawsgood

There is a lot I could say about this tee but nothing would come close to what has been written about it on the site.

Gather round and get yer vittles at the Two Lumps' Pie Car! La Muerta's carnie chef is an irascible, allergic, coffee-slinging line chef who regularly refuses to serve hot beverages to any carnies so foolish as to request sugar substitutes for their morning joe. He keeps the carnies fat and fed on this road show, plying the team with some of the greasiest grub we've ever tasted. And yes, that IS armpit hair in your soup... We recommend you let it slide. This is not a carnie you want on your bad side!

Kong

Kong by Paul Dickinson

Sometimes the simple things are the best. Portraying King Kong as an ape with a crown may be an old joke but I have never seen it done this well. The ape has a menacing stare and lopsided scowl giving it a really mean look. In contrast to the highly detailed Kong the crown is a simpler style vector effectively giving it a bright appearance. Set at a jaunty angle on his head it really adds to the schtick.

I Met A Robot

I Met A Robot by Danny Burgess

I really like this tee because it shows just how clever design can be. While robots are nothing new we are used to seeing them in various fighting positions and stances. This has the bot just standing there but uses a low angle and small human silhouette figure to convey the sheer size of it. It really makes fantastic use of the large print area. The lighting adds a dramatic flare.

Aerosoiled

Aerosoiled by Randyotter

I can't believe I have done so many posts on this blog without a single fart joke. That problem has now been solved. Unfortunately I have created another problem though. You can't own this tee. That's right this is another one for the denial files. It was up for voting at Threadless but didn't get through. Hopefully it will get submitted and printed at another company. Until then you can just look and dream.

After Party Guys

After Party Guys from Akumu Ink

I thought it was way past time I featured a dark and disturbing style tee and Akumu Ink are masters at that. I really like this offering from them. The guy is dressed in a suit and mask as if just coming from a party. The hammer raised over his head as if about to strike and grimace on his face really add a menacing aspect. The hand at the bottom hints at the person being attacked without resorting to gore and really leaves it up to your imagination. I love that.

Loose Lips

Loose Lips by Nick Hammond

Loose lips may sink ships but no matter how loose you are with your money you can't buy one of these tees. Yep add this one to the denial files. Like all of Nicks work it was a limited edition, never to be reprinted. Unfortunately I found out about it too late to let you know.

Unicorn Verses Carebear

Unicorn Verses Carebear from Total Lost

This tee bought back so many memories of my childhood. Mainly sunday morning arguments with my cousin because she wanted to watch Carebears or My Little Pony while I wanted to watch He Man or Transformers. At the sight of a carebear impaled on a super cute unicorns horn an AWESOME just seemed to explode from my lips.

Drink Water

Drink Water

Get a tee, spread the word and help those less fortunate. Triple win.

From the website:

If you love snowboarding or some other healthy activity that defines many decisions in your life, you are likely a choice target-consumer for companies that sell "energy drinks." Maybe you, like us, started to feel uncomfortable about how effective these companies have become at encouraging young people to consume their product: beverages of caffeine, sodium, sugar, high fructose corn syrup, and even some mystery chemicals about which little is known.
In 2011, we began writing Drink Water on our snowboards. Drink Water became some sort of statement, movement, mission, or whatever it is, and we bought some silkscreens and started making t-shirts, stickers, and sweatshirts. We gave a bunch away, and people we respect wore them with pride.
As we encouraged folks to drink water, we learned that nearly a billion people on Earth don't have access to clean drinking water--that's 1 out of every 8 people. In some parts of the developing world, that lack of clean drinking water is deadly.
For every Drink Water purchase, 10% of profits will be donated to provide drinking water for someone in need. We're supporting a non-profit, Water.org, as they drill wells to fight the water crisis.
We're out to spread the Drink Water word. We don’t sell water, we just drink it.
Thank you for your time and consideration. We'll see you out there.

The Maid Of Orleans

The Maid Of Orleans from Arquebus Clothing

Considering Joan Of Arc is a French national heroine, a Roman Catholic Saint and has a truly incredible story it is really strange that tshirts depicting her are so few and far between. You only realise what you are missing out on when you see a gorgeous example like this. I really like the vector tattoo style linework used here combined with the textured pink which has a real softening effect.

Zombie Squirrel

Zombie Squirrel from denada

Guys protect your nuts and run for your lives, the zombie squirrels are about to attack. Luckily there are no squirrels in the "Plants Verses Zombies" game or you could never win. I love this tee as it is the perfect combination of cuteness and horror. As soon as I saw it I thought of my friend, squirrel fanatic Steve and had to feature it.

This tee is available in both mens and womens styles.

Hellmo

Hellmo by midgerock

Yes that furry red creature you grew up with is the spawn of Satan. This is one of the best pop culture mashups that I have come across. The idea of the sickeningly sweet Elmo portrayed as Hellboy just appeals to me. Anyone who has spent time with children will know just how grating Elmos voice can be after a few hours. I have had a fantasy for quite some time now of getting a pile of the tickle me dolls and setting them alight. I would video tape it and upload it to youtube as Saint Elmos Fire.

Albert

Albert from Imaginary Foundation

Albert Einstein once said "Imagination is more important than knowledge." I really like how that has been portrayed here. His portrait is made from a smoky type substance, possibly the stuff the cosmos is made from. It is a fantastic way to view such an important figure in our history. Written small across the bottom is the quote I mentioned earlier.

Gold Samurai

Gold Samurai by tat2ts

I have seen a lot of samurai themed tees but this one stands out due to the sense of movement it creates. I really find myself wondering just what he is about to attack. I do know I would not want to be confronted by a warrior looking so fearsome. The golden color of the linework looks great and gives it a classy vintage feel.
