Jumping Brain Stencil

Jumping Brain Stencil by jumpingbrain

Although this is a printed shirt it looks like it uses a graffiti style stencil. Even the over spray has been included by the artist. The effect gives it a cool homemade, garage punk style that was really popular back in the 90's underground culture.

Fail

Fail by Budi Satria Kwan

There are a lot of funny tees out there but not many actually make me literally laugh out loud like this one did. The idea that the cow who jumped over the moon didn't quite make it just cracks me up. The artwork is perfect as well, resembling a children's book illustration.

Apes Shall Rule

Apes Shall Rule by Ramsey Sibaja

The whole Planet Of The Apes thing is not new and although the artwork here is really good, it doesn't really add anything original. What is really cool though is the fact that it is available in a variety of different color combinations. There are not many tee companies that offer that as an option which is a shame because tshirts are the ultimate form of self expression.

Tygers Of Wrath

Tygers Of Wrath from Disturbia

I have to admit to having a bit of a tiger fetish. I just can't go past a tiger tee without checking it out. There are some fantastic examples out there. Generally they show the animal as regal, serene or roaring. It is not very often you see them pictured as a predator like this. They are true natural born killers so not only am I over the moon that they have been pictured as such, the artwork is amazing to boot.

Drag Me To Hell

Drag Me To Hell from The Horror Project

I love horror comic style tees and I just came across and awesome site to get them - The Horror Project. This shirt is a great example of the genre. A sexy woman being pulled down to hell by undead zombies, their arms all over her. The blue color scheme tells you it is at night when all the scary stuff happens and the expression on her face is just perfect.

All Play, No Work

All Play, No Work by TangYauHoong

Something really different today. Oodles of doodles. This looks so much like what I was doing at school when I should have been listening to boring lectures that I just had to feature it. I am not sure if it is intentional but the use of red and blue inks really reinforces the biro drawn look.

Warrior

Warrior by Artemple

There are no winners in wars. This is something I really believe in and this tee shows that by using a tiger as a metaphor. Even though he is wounded, the blood around the mouth reveals that he inflicted wounds to his opponent as well.  The splatter effect fade out and almost fluoro colored blood give this an otherworldly feel, so animal lovers won't be upset over it. That is a good thing because no one wants to be plastered by eggs or paint by PETA protesters.

Mechanic-owl King

Mechanic-owl King by Alex Solis

I have to admit when looking through thumbnail images I didn't give this tee a second glance, thinking it was just another owl design. There have been so many that my brain automatically blocks them out now. It was the title that got me to click through and I am so glad that I did. Confronted by the amazingly detailed steampunk style mechanical owl at first I didn't notice the mouse. I love the little guy up there, looking debonair in his top hat. It gives the whole thing a nice sense of whimsy, almost as if it is part of a childrens story.

Lion

Lion by dkngstudios

I can remember being totally captivated by a series of images when I was a child. Each one was intricately detailed yet revealed a hidden picture when viewed from a distance. This tee managed to transport me straight back there and made me recall the innocence of youth, something I lost a long time ago.

Vader's Redemption

Vader's Redemption by teevstee

This is one of the coolest Star Wars themed tees I have ever seen. I really like the little touches like the TIE fighters becoming part of Darth's gown. Pure geeky goodness.

Evil Genius

Evil Genius from Perception Apparel

The much maligned mad scientist is a subject rarely seen on tshirts. I think that is a real shame as they are such interesting characters. Their laboratories are awesome places too, full of all sorts of weird and wonderful things. I would love to just spend time there checking everything out.

Infinite Space

Infinite Space from Thought Space

I spent a while studying this shirt and it seems to be a  mix of ancient astrology and modern Sci-Fi. That may sound really odd, but it works. It tells the story of humankinds connection to the stars. When you get right down to it everything is connected because everything is made from the same basic building blocks, atoms.

Hopscotch

Hopscotch from Denada

It seems the monsters that used to live in the closet are getting smarter. If your phone or laptop goes missing you know they have dragged it under the bed to do some studying, perhaps even get a degree.

Choppercizer

Choppercizer from Glennz Tees

We are in the middle of an obesity epidemic people. AN EPIDEMIC ! How did we get to this point? I blame our modern vanity. You just can't look good while sweating and straining away on gym equipment. Enter the Chopperciser.  An easy riding calorie burner with old school style. Retro is always a winner so sit back and cruise your way to a new, leaner you.

Happiness Junky

Happiness Junky from Arquebus

This is not the sort of tee that I usually post, far from it in fact. I can't quite put my finger on what it is, but there is something I really like about it. Maybe with all the stress in my life I just want to be a happiness junky.

Badseed

Badseed from Electric Zombie

I was immediately drawn to this tee because of my childhood. Growing up around cars and heavy metal music flying eyeballs and skulls were normal. This shirt is something different though. At first the electrical cord threw me, but it did get me thinking. Being portrayed as an umbilical cord it seems to represent the technological culture that we find ourselves in. It is monstrous, obscene and bizarre. Are we supposed to be ready for it as soon as we are born, or should we unplug to be reborn?

Bali Demon

Bali Demon by Pale Horse

I just love the work of Chris Parks aka Pale Horse. He has a really unique illustration style. It is amazingly detailed and meticulous, yet always imbued with incredible color. He has created artworks for companies like Hasbro, Sanrio, Iron Fist, DC Comics, Bernstein & Andriulli, Dean Guitars, Computer Arts, Wired Magazine and many others. It is unusual for someone of such standing to have a tshirt line yet I am so glad that he does.

Red Ring Of Death

Deaths Red Ring from Split Reason

All gamers know about the red ring of death and a lot have experienced it first hand. I admit that I have felt the urge to throw a Xbox 360 at the wall when it happened. It is an amazingly frustrating experience. I had to smile at this tee though. Taking the nickname literally just makes it funny. Now in my imagination there is a room full of hourglasses, watched over by the Grim Reaper of Xbox. It  sounds like something from a Terry Pratchett novel.

Dreamcatcher

Dreamcatcher from Bsclly

If you can dream it, you can achieve it. What a great quote for a tee. Consider all your heroes for a moment and you realise that is exactly what they did. Human history is filled with people that made their dreams reality. They are the people we look up to. I also really like the fact that the quote has been incorporated into an intricate dreamcatcher design. It adds a real visual punch and is a unique way to get the message across.

Typhon

Typhon from Twin Srpnt

Typhon was destroying cities and hurling mountains in a fit of rage. During his burst of outrage, the gods of Olympus fled to their home. Zeus stood firm, and the battle raged, ending when Typhon tore up Mount Etna to hurl at the gods and that's when Zeus aimed thunderbolts and the mountain fell on top of Typhon, trapping him to this very day erupting lava, fire and smoke through the top of the mountain. Typhon is believed to be the reason of volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and typhoons.

*Note: It's Typhon not Typhoon.

Shot First

Shot First by Jose A Gutierrez Rivera

Han shot first. If you don't know what this is about by now you must have been living under a rock. This tee really shows how powerful the internet is. The character does not even need a face for you to know exactly what this is about. The net took something one fan noticed and let the whole world know all about it. I think that illustrates just how much power average people have in this day and age. The only question remaining is whether we use it for good or evil.

Land Of Lovecraft

Land Of Lovecraft by nikholmes

I have friends who are World Of Warcraft tragics so I really got a kick out of this tee. It is funny to think that Lovecraft created scarier monsters in print than a whole team of game artists and designers could ever conceive. Cthulhu FTW.

Skater Kickflip

Skater Kickflip by styleuniversal

The thing I really like about this cartoon is the face, or rather lack of it. Usually it is the characters facial expression that gives the greatest meaning to the artwork. By removing the face entirely the focus really becomes the action. The only thing that I would have liked to see here is a shadow on the ground showing how high he is, but it certainly is not a deal breaker.

Cat's Cradle

Cat's Cradle from Miles To Go

"Busy, busy, busy, is what we Bokononists whisper whenever we think of how complicated and unpredictable the machinery of life really is." - Kurt Vonnegut.

It has been a while since I checked out what Miles To Go have been doing and boy have those guys been busy. There are a heap more literary inspired designs for us book lovers since the last time I looked. Guess I will have to keep a closer eye on them in future.

Garden Snake

Garden Snake from Made With Awesome

I love tees that tell a story, even more so when you first have to decode them like this. Taking the phrase garden snake literally, this amazing illustration shows a snake morphing into a garden. The level of detail is just exquisite and the muted color scheme works so well. This actually reminds me of those grand old gardens where twists in the path reveal grand new vistas or secret little hideaways.

The Passing

The Passing by Dan Mumford

This is the greatest tshirt you will never own. My heart sank when I realised that this was out of print. Sadly the only thing to do is add this to the denial files. What I can offer you as some sort of compensation is a larger view so you can drink in all the fabulous details and weep.

The Rising Shadow

The Rising Shadow by Studio8Worx

I have to admit that this tee caught me by surprise. The style of the artwork drew me in to have a closer look and it was only then that I realised that it was a Batman themed design. I have to admit that I really didn't know much about the upcoming movie so I did a little research. The main character portrayed on the shirt is called Bane and it seems that he gives Batman an ass whoopin he won't soon forget. That explains why the hero is rendered so small. For those interested check out the latest movie trailer that was just released.
