Richard the Lionheart

Richard the Lionheart from You're History

This a great representation of the man who earned the nickname Lionheart for his reputation as a military leader and warrior. Not so well known is the fact he earned it before becoming King of England. I am guessing that this is depicting Richard at the crusades, charging some of Saladins soldiers.

Vinyl Saucer Attack

Vinyl Saucer Attack from Voodoobeat

I am in love with this tee because it is funny and so clever. The poor forgotten and discarded vinyl records are seeking revenge. Mashing them up with another retro classic, the B movie poster just works so well. It also pokes fun at the myriad of grainy, blurry photos of flying saucers. Musical mayhem.

Moonster

Moonster from Sleep Terror

We all heard stories of the man in the moon as children. Little did we realise how terrifying the reality actually is. The moon is a multi eyed creature looking down on us. Imagine all the things he has seen. I wonder if he is judging us. I like the idea that adding just one extra letter to a word creates a whole new character. Very clever.

Hero, the Princess is Trapped in the Castle!

Hero, the Princess is Trapped in the Castle! by Wagner Nogueira Lima

This is one of the most unique and incredibly detailed tshirt artworks I have ever come across. It takes the old story of the hero saving the princess from the castle to a whole new level. This castle is alive, a colossal hulking creature. Imagine how much harder would this make your quest. I would really love to see one of these up close to check out all the details. Hopefully those chained dragons don't come to life while I am admiring.

3D Glasses

3D Glasses from La Flamme

I find it amazing that when new technology is released, like 3D television, that we are all expected to march out and buy it like a pack of mindless zombies. I find it even more disturbing that many people do. Ok, rant over. It has nothing to do with the original intention of this tee, it is just what it got me thinking about.

Vampiress

Vampiress from Drop Dead

This is close to a denial as most sizes are sold out. You may get lucky but more than likely have missed out. I really like this for the balance of femininity and horror. It reminds me of Anne Rice novels.

Common Threadz

Tshirts from Common Threadz

I just came across this site and I had to share as it is quite different. Proceeds from these tees go to help the underprivileged in Africa. The money raised goes toward food, shoes, school uniforms, mentors and other things. At the moment there are two different types of shirts to choose from. The Signature Series features designs donated by artists around the world. In contrast the Orphan Collection are designed by the orphans themselves. Coming soon are CelebreTees, tees designed by celebs and in collaboration with commissioned artists. So head on over, get yourself some cool shirts and help out the less fortunate.

Shoot First

Shoot First from Assault

You have to blast down those tommy gun wielding gangster zombies before they get you. This poor policeman is making damn sure that his brains stay right where they are. Not only is the artwork on this tee fantastic, the subject matter is just so different. It is great to see a new spin on the zombie genre.

Year of the Dragon

Year of the Dragon from Slow Down

After yesterdays Samurai tee I thought it would be nice to continue the theme with this dragon. What I find striking about this is the colors. While there are a lot used they complement each other perfectly. The end result is colorful but not visually jarring or overpowering.

Samurai Tiger

Samurai Tiger by oBrunoMota

My first thought upon seeing this was Wow! It is a truly stunning piece of illustration that makes the mind conjure up story lines to go with it. I prefer the mens silver tee over the womens pink version but that is purely a personal decision as I am not a huge fan of pink.

Alien Eats Alien

Alien Eats Alien from Pampling

Yes it is a funny tee but what really got to me about this was the amazing difference between the two creatures. Space Invaders and Alien were both first released in the late seventies (about a year apart). The fact that one has really stood the test of time is a real testament to the artist behind it, H.R.Giger. The Invaders actually look like cookies compared to the horror of Alien, which makes a lot of sense in this scene.

Texas Chainsaw Astronaut: New Moon

Texas Chainsaw Astronaut: New Moon by Nick Volkert

This is one badass, chainsaw wielding astronaut. On top of being an awesome piece of illustration work what I really appreciate about this is the pose. Nearly all astronaut themed tees use the same picture as reference so it is really refreshing to come across one completely different.

Slothzilla

Slothzilla from Sharp Shirter

This may just be the greatest King Kong parody ever. You can't help but love that sloth. Seriously, just look at his face. You are instantly on his side in this battle. Even better is knowing those pesky planes are not really going to bother him much and he certainly isn't moving anywhere in a hurry. Instead of mass destruction this giant just causes smiles.

Cleopatra

Cleopatra from You're History

Sexy, sinister and a seductress, Cleopatra was Egypt's perfect Queen. Looking at this I can understand why Caesar and Mark Antony fell for her. Maybe I just have a thing for bad women.

Vamp Girl

It is way past time that I hit you with another denial. That's right, sadly you can't own this amazing tee as it is no longer for sale. Don't worry too much as Iron Fist always has some amazing tees for sale.

Merlion

Merlion from Heroine

The merlion, a mythical creature with the body of a fish and the head of a lion, occur in the artistic traditions of many countries. They are best known as the logo of Singapore though. What I find really striking about this rendition is the lack of facial features. Having it blacked out like that makes it scarier. Those yellow eyes seem to glow.

Choppers and Sluts

Choppers and Sluts from Blood Is The New Black

This is a long way from being politically correct but I like it and I know a lot of others who would too so I am posting it. Those who don't like it can leave. For the rest this is available in white and black

Monster Kicks

Monster Kicks from Sleepy Dan

Zombified Jordans! This is one of the weirdest yet amazingly cool things I have ever seen. I can imagine Stephen King writing about these killer shoes.

The Lion

The Lion by Hydro74

Another piece of finely detailed illustration from the master Hydro74, this time as part of the DBH Collective. What I really like about this one is the lions eyes. They look dead, which combined with the silver and gold color scheme on black give this tee a unique look amid the countless other lion tshirts out there.

Freedom Slingshot

Freedom Slingshoter from Revolutionary Me

There a a few propaganda style tees floating around but they are generally parodies of some sort. It's refreshing to see a company take the idea seriously. Revolutionary Me is a company with real ideals. From the website:

R is for Red

R is for Red by Luisa Isabel Taguiang

I love minimalist design when it is done well and this is exceptionally good. Each part of the letter R tells part of the Little Red Riding Hood story. The front curve is just perfect as the hood and cape. The two vertical bars are tree trunks in the forest supporting the leaf shape at the top. The wolf himself makes and appearance poking his head out from behind the trees as his tail becomes the lower flourish. Utilising just two colors and few elements the theme is instantly recognizable which is an amazing feat.

Decimation

Decimation by Dan Mumford

This reminds me of those old pulpy science fiction covers. A fire breathing, tentacled, alien monster is on a destruction frenzy and killing everyone in its path. The soldier crouching behind the car with his gun at the ready looks so insignificant compared to his adversary. It makes me want to know his story. Will he survive, save the day, or get fried along with the others?

Surfing King Neptune

King Neptune from Livin Over Board

You could view this as either the Roman God Neptune, or the Greek God Poseidon as both are deities of water and were portrayed in very similar ways in antiquity. It seems only natural that he would be brilliant at water sports and would be able to really carve up the waves on a surfboard.

Droogs

Droogs from Disturbia

Now now then my little Droogy. This tee will sharpen you up and make you ready for a bit of the old ultra-violence. Pretty much a perfect tribute to the movie A Clockwork Orange. For those who have not seen the movie (I personally don't know any but thet must exist) I have added a video of the opening sequence. For those in the know, grab a big glass of milk plus and check out the large artwork below.

Belligerent Bengal

Belligerent Bengal from Seventh Ink

Anthropomorphic animals are alway a win in my book and having a thing for tigers I couldn't resist featuring this tee. What I find really striking about this is the pose. He almost seems to be leaping out of the shirt in anger. Combine that with the suit and tie outfit and this becomes really different from all the others out there. The artwork itself is fantastic too with lots of attention to detail in lighting and shadows. I hate to think how long the artist spent getting all that done.

Monster Hunter

Monster Hunter from Reckless Hero

What are you going to do when your town is overrun with monsters? You call the Monster Hunter. He is one bad ass, chainsaw wielding mofo. This has to be one of the coolest comic character tees of all time.

Tales Of A Scorched Earth

Tales of A Scorched Earth by Christopher Lovell

I have featured Chris Lovell's work before because his work is always amazing. I think he has outdone himself with this one though. While it is the stuffed animals that first draw you in, they do so by giving you a false sense of security. This is a post apocalyptic scene the like of which has never been seen before. Scantily clad babes with gun belts are wearing some of the decapitated heads. I really like how all the faces look so sad and deranged, a far cry from what we are used to from childrens toys. A dead tree reaching its bare limbs into the sky adds to the morose feeling. There is a Smashing Pumpkins song with the same name as this shirt. I am not sure if was the inspiration but not only would this make a great tee for that song, it would actually fit in with all the artwork on that album.

Invisible Girl

Invisible Girl by Tyson Mcadoo

Could this be the invisible mans girlfriend? If so he is one lucky guy. This tee just blows me away. It is amazingly unique and the illustration work is fantastic, a nice balance between cartoon and realism. What really gets me though is how sexy it is even though there is literally no body. It shows just how much impact lingerie and poses can have.

Feathered Friends

Feathered Friends by Chewilicious

Sorry Mr Raptor, just because you have feathers does not mean that you fit in with modern birds. I like to think this guy is from Jurassic Park and somehow found his way to civilization. He is now doing his best to fit in because he doesn't want to end up like King Kong.

Blood Butter

Blood Butter from Panic Pop

When you are feeling down all you need to do is make some toast. Guaranteed to make everything better. Oh come on, cheer up emo kid. There really is no need to butter it with your blood.
