The merlion, a mythical creature with the body of a fish and the head of a lion, occur in the artistic traditions of many countries. They are best known as the logo of Singapore though. What I find really striking about this rendition is the lack of facial features. Having it blacked out like that makes it scarier. Those yellow eyes seem to glow.
