The Rhythm of Rising Sun

The Rhythm of Rising Sun by rejagalu

On the surface the idea of a samurai playing guitar sounds odd, yet in practice works amazingly well. This is mainly due to the fantastic artwork. The character has real sense of menace and movement. It actually reminds me of 80's hair metal bands with their outrageous costumes. This guy could step onstage with Kiss or Motley Crue and no one would bat an eyelid.

Gorgon General

Gorgon General from Beautiful Nightmare

Put your wallets away as this baby is sold out. I thought it was past time that I teased you all with a denial. Not really that surprising considering it was a limited edition of only 50 tees. You can still dream though.

Quetzalcoatl

Quetzalcoatl by qetza

I was drawn to this tee because I recently finished reading a book about Malinalli and Hernán Cortés. It is an incredible story. Malinalli is a slave girl who believes Cortés is the god Quetzacoatl. Due to her influence the fates of Mexico and Spain were irrevocably changed. It is an amazing piece of history that I hadn't heard of before.

It's Friday

Cupcake Cult Its Friday from Poizen Industries

I know it is weird having a blog post titled It's Friday on a monday but I thought this would make your day a little bit brighter. A super cute Hello Kitty take on Jason Voorhees. I especially like the womens version with the pink blood. Now when people annoy you today you can imagine this sneaking up behind them.

Available in both mens and womens styles.

Eagle Skull

Eagle Skull by Hydro74

I know I have featured tees by Hydro74 before but I just love his work. His style is so unique and precise, you can spot his work across a room. This amazing design was commissioned by Secret Artist.

Matches

Matches by barmalisiRTB

The more I think about it the more I realise just how clever this tee is. Going beyond the obvious pun of the dead match are a heap of others. A lot of old beliefs and sayings about life center around fire, for example, his flame was snuffed out. Visually ghost are portrayed as smoky, ethereal beings. What I really like about this is how the spirit is so contented, its hard life and pain now at end. There is a promise of better things awaiting us.

Zombie Nose-Picking Yeti

Zombie Nose-Picking Yeti from Zombie Yeti Studios

Not even the solitary yeti is immune to the zombie virus. The infected creature is having trouble forming coherent thoughts and picks his nose to comfort himself while trying to decide what to do next.

Legends Never Die

Legends Never Die from Empryse

I am not sure if this relates to a video game or something like that. I like to think that this is a knight on the crusades. Becoming a zombie would really make an interesting juxtaposition against the holiness of his mission.

Dances With Wolves

Dances With Wolves by Peter Kramar

The fact that this tee works even if you don't know the movie reference is testament to how good it is. The vintage style cartoon characters just look like they are having so much fun dancing away. It is a retro cool all over pattern print with a hidden parody. I wonder how long it would take people to connect the civil war soldiers, American Indians and wolves to the film.

Corset Print Tshirt

Corset Print from The Gothic Shop

Get the look without the discomfort. Pure genius. Personally I prefer the purple corset over the red but it is entirely up to you.

The Elephant In The Room

The Elephant In The Room from Captain Kyso

When the New York City fire department decided to replace all the hydrants around town with elephants, after ground breaking talks with the Indian government, no one was very happy.

After all, even though they’d finally managed to get rid of two bit actors like Alexx O’Nell, they’d received a bunch of pachyderms in return, and these animals were now part of an environment social responsibility exercise, that few wanted to deal with.

For example, when Dumbo wanted to take a dump, the stringent no-poop-on-the-streets law required firefighters to shovel piles of dung into body bags. And that was just the start of their problems.

Elephants, by nature, are stubborn creatures. Since the folks at PETA had forbade the firefighters from poking the animals into submission, it would take the firemen ages to get to a spot, simply because the animals were distracted by the plastic trees in the shop windows at Barney’s. Also the firemen were hardly used to mounting the animals at first, returning home on most night with stiff legs from sitting bareback for extended periods of time during the day. We hear their wives weren’t happy with the effects on other parts either, if you know what we mean.

Something had to be done and quickly. The problem was belling the cat, or in this case, an unruly bunch of pachyderms. Rock, paper, scissors, to decide who?

Handlebar Hold Up

Handlebar Hold Up from Fuzzy Ink

You better watch yourself son. There is a new mustache in town and he is one hairy, gun toting, mean handlebar.

Poker Pleasure

Poker Pleasure from Barmetal

I am a poker nut. I have been playing the game for years and I even ran tournaments for some time for a living. It was fantastic to see the massive rise in popularity of the game a few years back. It bought a whole lot of fresh blood into the game. What wasn't so great was all the people trying to make a quick buck from it. Suddenly the market was flooded with shitty tees with clip art and lingo. I have seen so many now that I am always excited when I come across something worthy. This one is available in both mens and womens styles.

Leg Fries

Leg Fries from Insomniac

I love surrealism. It can have deep meaning or just be weird for the sake of weirdness depending on who is viewing it, as well as their state of mind. With this piece you could wax lyrical about consumer culture and sex in advertising, or just admire the fine artwork. It is entirely up to you.

Octopus

Octopus from Iuter

I adore how these tees make use of negative space and just a single color to make a massive impact. A brilliant example of less is more. With just the tentacles as a visual guide this could be Zoidberg, Cthulhu, Kraken or any number of things. My biggest problem is choosing which color to get.

Absinthe

It Makes the Heart Grow Fonder by Megan Lara

I really like vintage advert style tees when they are done well like this one, yet it stands out from the crowd for an entirely different reason. This is the only absinthe themed shirt I have ever seen. I want one just to look semi bohemian amongst the sea of bourbon and beer branded tees out there.

Don't Believe in Yesterday

Don't Believe in Yesterday from Agape Attire

This tee brought to my mind the Beatles song Yesterday. It is one of those songs that irks me because I just don't agree with its sentiment. We tend to look at past memories through rose tinted glasses, making them seem better than they really were. More than that, dwelling in the past won't get you anywhere. Turn around and head towards your future. It is going to be exactly what you make of it.
