There are a lot of zombie themed tees around yet this one caught my eye for one reason, the lack of a zombie. We don't even see the gun wielding hero. Instead we see the damsel character, which I find a really interesting choice. These days this is considered a bit politically incorrect and most artists would portray the woman as a heroine instead. This shirt stays true to its retro theme and I love it for that. Available in both mens and womens styles.

The artwork on this tee is fairly open to interpretation. The character may be a robot, human, alien or something else entirely. The most intriguing thing for me is that the mask appears to be floating, as if there is nothing in the armor. It makes me think some spiritual presence like a demon is at work.

Monster Hunter

What are you going to do when your town is overrun with monsters? You call the Monster Hunter. He is one bad ass, chainsaw wielding mofo. This has to be one of the coolest comic character tees of all time.

Super Embarrassment

This is one of the funniest super hero tees I have ever seen. I literally laughed out loud. The reason it works so well is that it could really happen. We all make mistakes and I'm sure the man of steel is no different. The illustration itself is so good that at first you don't actually get the joke. You have to read the speech bubbles and take a second look at the artwork for it to sink in. The subtle texturing to age it around the edges finishes it beautifully. I never thought that I would come across a Superman tee that I would actually wear but I really want this.

I have to admit that I haven't come across too many comics on tees. Weirdly the few that I have seen have all been colored. The stark black and white simplicity of this one really appeals to me in a way the others didn't. I think it may have connected to my inner child that still remembers reading comics, the unique smell of cheap paper and ink permeating the air.

My first thought upon seeing this tee was that it looked like a promotion for a new Zack Snyder film. I love the character in his leather and mask giving him a real sinister appearance, heightened by the red moon in the background. The multi barreled gun spewing flame just jumps out at you adding amazing depth and action. For me the most striking thing is the shattered glass. It looks amazing and adds so much to the story.

The concept behind this tee is amazingly cool. In fact there are four shirts, each by a different artist. Inspired by a poem by Neil Gaiman, each tee tells a different portion of the story. For those interested the portion of the poem for this one is;

On the saucer day, which was the zombie day, it was
Ragnarok also, and the television screens showed us
A ship built of dead-man's nails, a serpent, a wolf,
All bigger than the mind could hold, and the cameraman could

You have to wonder why the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles wear colored masks. Hiding your identity is not really a concern when you are a freakin giant turtle. It would seem Michelangelo didn't get told about the costume decision. Although he probably wasn't listening. Tubular dude.

Jogging

There is something I really don't like about this tee and that is the name of it. It just does not make sense when compared the artwork. You have to go to the site and read the story about it for a glimmering of understanding. That said it is a very cool shirt. It reminds me of those old sexploitation flicks and more recently Sucker Punch and Planet Terror. The artwork is not only very unique, it has a great sense of depth and movement.

Crouching Panther

It is so cool to see this style of illustration used for something other than human based characters for a change. The panther looks totally ferocious and has a great sense of movement across the tee. The red circle behind it is an inspired choice. It gives a nice frame for the panther to step out of, shows a bit of landscape and subliminally makes you think of darkness as it is moon shaped.

Brainsucker

I am not quite sure what the monster on this tee actually is. It looks a bit like Cthulhu with the Stonemasons pyramid giving it a cyclops eye. It does have a great sense of fun to it that I really love which is backed up by the crazy colors. In fact it is actually available in two color schemes, either red and blue or purple and yellow. Personally I prefer the red and blue just because the blood is the right color.

I love horror comic style tees and I just came across and awesome site to get them - The Horror Project. This shirt is a great example of the genre. A sexy woman being pulled down to hell by undead zombies, their arms all over her. The blue color scheme tells you it is at night when all the scary stuff happens and the expression on her face is just perfect.

I have to admit that this tee caught me by surprise. The style of the artwork drew me in to have a closer look and it was only then that I realised that it was a Batman themed design. I have to admit that I really didn't know much about the upcoming movie so I did a little research. The main character portrayed on the shirt is called Bane and it seems that he gives Batman an ass whoopin he won't soon forget. That explains why the hero is rendered so small. War is hard to bear. Ok excuse the bad pun but I just couldn't resist. Now look at the tee. War, grimace, cigar - yet it is still cute. This could be Darwins theory of evolution at work. Is it possible that multiple generations growing up with teddy bears has changed our perceptions? Then again it could have something to do with the color purple.

Sasquatch Frenzy

With its almost fluoro colors this tee attacks your retinas and smacks you upside the head. I love it. Taking an old worn out idea and breathing a freshness into it is something that is attempted often yet rarely done well. This sasquatch looks so amazingly ferocious that I certainly wouldn't want to met one of these guys. The use of bold colors on a blue shirt makes sure this one stands out from the crowd and that you will not forget it in a hurry.

I Met A Robot

I really like this tee because it shows just how clever design can be. While robots are nothing new we are used to seeing them in various fighting positions and stances. This has the bot just standing there but uses a low angle and small human silhouette figure to convey the sheer size of it. It really makes fantastic use of the large print area. The lighting adds a dramatic flare.
