The Rhythm of Rising Sun

The Rhythm of Rising Sun by rejagalu

On the surface the idea of a samurai playing guitar sounds odd, yet in practice works amazingly well. This is mainly due to the fantastic artwork. The character has real sense of menace and movement. It actually reminds me of 80's hair metal bands with their outrageous costumes. This guy could step onstage with Kiss or Motley Crue and no one would bat an eyelid.

Samurai Koi Fish

Fish Samarie from Artanky

Two of the things Japan is most famous for are koi fish and the mighty samurai, so it makes sense to mash them into a character. I really like the cartoon style used here. It is fun, bright and colorful and looks great on a purple tee. Available in both mens and womens styles.

Owl Samurai

Owl Samurai by ghozai

At first glance this seems to be just another owl in front of a full moon tee. It is not until a close inspection that you realise that he is wearing martial arts style clothing. That then leads you to notice the samurai topknot style hair do. I really like the fact that it is so subtle. No swords or other weapons, text or any obvious giveaway. The single color linework reinforces the idea. Only the astute will ever get the joke.

Spirit Of White Samurai

Spirit Of White Samurai by fourscore

Evey so often you come across something that just shouldn't work yet do. If someone had told me about a tee that featured a polar bear samurai I would have scoffed. At best my mind would have conjured up a very cartoonish image. That is a far cry from the pure awesomeness of this tee. The artwork is so incredibly believable that this could easily be a poster for the latest CGI Hollywood blockbuster. I love it.

Dragon Slayer

Dragon Slayer from Dream On Dreamer

Yeah I know I have said before that I don't generally do band tees, but like the Miss May I "Slime Burger" recently, this is just too good not to show. The artwork is just fantastic, with an incredible amount of detail in the illustration work. It manages to take a heavy metal cliche to a whole new level.
